Elm Chevrolet is looking for an experienced Service Advisor/Writer to join our busy service department in Elmira, NY.
Previous automotive service advising/writing experience is required. This is not an entry-level position. Applicants without relevant automotive service experience will not be considered.
Were looking for someone who understands how a dealership service department operates, communicates well with customers and technicians, and can keep things moving in a fast-paced shop.
What Youll Do
- Greet customers and discuss their vehicle concerns and service needs.
- Write accurate repair orders and estimates.
- Explain recommended repairs, maintenance, and associated costs.
- Schedule and prioritize work to maintain efficient shop flow.
- Communicate with technicians regarding diagnosis, repairs, and completion times.
- Keep customers informed throughout the repair process.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Address customer questions and concerns professionally.
- Use dealership software to schedule appointments, manage repair orders, and process completed work.
- Follow up with customers to ensure a positive service experience.
What Were Looking For
- Previous Service Advisor/Writer or directly related automotive service experience is required.
- Working knowledge of vehicle systems, repairs, and maintenance.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy service department.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use dealership software.
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record.
