Location: Chilliwack & Abbotsford, BC
Employment Type: Full-Time Maternity Leave Coverage
Term: Immediately through September 2027, with potential for continued employment afterward
Compensation: $19–$23 per hour

Fraser Valley Cataract & Laser (FVCL) is a growing ophthalmology clinic and surgical centre specializing in eye disease and surgery. Our team of ophthalmologists provides a wide range of services, including MSP-covered examinations and surgeries, as well as private lens surgery and LASIK.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a full-time maternity leave coverage position .

Schedule & Location

- Must be available to work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in Chilliwack.

- Must be willing to work between our Chilliwack and Abbotsford locations

- Training will primarily take place in Chilliwack

- Additional Thursday or Friday shifts may occasionally be available.

- Position is available until September 2027 , with potential for continued employment afterward

Key Duties

- Greeting patients in person, over the phone, and via email in a professional and supportive manner

- Booking and coordinating patient appointments

- Billing, invoicing, and processing payments

- Supporting physicians with daily clinical needs

- Assisting with patient care and clinical workflows

- Tracking lab results and coordinating follow-ups

- Providing patients with instructions for diagnostic testing

- Performing diagnostic testing and patient workups

- Using the Accuro EMR system

- Working collaboratively with physicians and team members

- Supporting clinic systems, workflows, and process improvements

Ophthalmic Assistant Experience — Asset

Experience with the following is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate :

- Visual field testing

- OCT imaging

- Auto-refraction

- Non-contact tonometry

- Patient workups

If you do not have direct ophthalmology experience, a strong work ethic, positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly are essential.
