Electrical Design Engineer – Switchboard Design | EPLAN | Bucharest | Hybrid

For our client, a company active in the marine and shipbuilding industry , we are looking for an Electrical Engineer – Switchboard Design to join the engineering team in Bucharest.
The role is focused on the design and development of electrical switchboards and electrical distribution systems , using EPLAN , for marine and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop electrical switchboards, control panels and power distribution systems .

- Create and update electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using EPLAN .

- Prepare technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, terminal plans, cable lists and BOMs .

- Select electrical components such as circuit breakers, contactors, relays, protection devices, power supplies and other switchboard equipment.

- Perform basic electrical calculations and ensure correct sizing of components and cables.

- Support the development and optimization of switchboard layouts.

- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical, marine and industrial standards .

- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, automation engineers, production teams and project managers.

- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning .

- Review technical specifications and customer requirements and integrate them into the electrical design.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, Power Engineering, Automation or a related technical field.

- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering/design.

- Hands-on experience with EPLAN Electric P8 or similar EPLAN solutions.

- Experience in switchboard / electrical panel design is strongly preferred.

- Good understanding of electrical schematics, power distribution and electrical components.

- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and electrical documentation.

- Experience in the marine, shipbuilding, industrial, energy or automation sectors is considered an advantage.

- Good English communication skills.

- Structured, detail-oriented and solution-focused approach.
