About this role

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Technical Operations & Maintenance:

- Maintain passenger and service elevators.
- Inspect motors, traction machines, gearboxes/gear motors, brakes, ropes, sheaves, counterweights, and guide systems.
- Maintain elevator doors, door operators, sensors, and interlocks.
- Inspect controllers, VFDs, relays, limit switches, and safety circuits.
- Monitor abnormal vibration, noise, temperature, and movement.
- Perform lubrication and routine adjustment.
- Test emergency alarms and communication systems.
- Test emergency lighting and rescue systems.
- Respond to elevator breakdowns and passenger entrapment.
- Follow approved passenger rescue procedures.
- Maintain elevator machine rooms and related areas.
- Maintain inspection certificates and maintenance records.

2) Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure all engineering operations comply with relevant regulatory codes, company policies, and safety standards.
- Adhere to and enforce strict safety protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and maintain a safe working environment.
- Work closely with management to ensure compliance with all government regulations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager

### Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Elevator Technology, or a relevant technical qualification.

Relevant Experience:

- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in Elevator / Lift maintenance.
- Strong experience in passenger and service elevators preferred.
- OEM training or certification in elevator system is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls after hours and work flexible hours as needed.
- Basic English and computer literacy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
- In-depth knowledge of elevator mechanical and electrical systems, including traction machines, motors, brakes, ropes, sheaves, counterweights, and guide systems.
- Strong knowledge of elevator doors, door operators, sensors, interlocks, controllers, VFDs, relays, and safety circuits.
- Knowledge of elevator emergency alarm, emergency lighting, communication, and rescue systems.
- Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical elevator faults.
- Ability to read and interpret elevator drawings, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and OEM manuals.
- Strong understanding of elevator safety requirements, LOTO, and safe working practices.
- Ability to respond effectively to elevator breakdowns and passengers’ entrapment emergencies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, coordination, and reporting skills.
