Cook - Courtyard Memphis Downtown

Job Description: As a Bistro Cook at Courtyard Memphis Downtown, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for the Bistro restaurant. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen environment, possess excellent culinary skills, and be able to work collaboratively with other team members. Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
Assist with menu planning and development under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager
Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize waste
Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Collaborate with the Bistro team to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
Follow all proper food handling procedures and brand standards for safety and quality
 
Qualifications:
 
Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or hotel setting
Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
 
Physical Requirements:
 
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds
Work in a hot kitchen environment
