Description

At Anacortes Health & Rehabilitation of Cascadia Healthcare , we’re dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care that supports our residents in living their best lives. We’re looking for a dependable and team-oriented Culinary Aide / Dishwasher to support our dining services team. In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment for our residents, staff, and guests.

What You’ll Do

- Assist with food prep, including beverages, salads, desserts, and other menu items
- Serve meals and snacks in a timely, accurate, and appealing manner
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Ensure food is prepared and served at correct temperatures
- Support meal delivery to designated areas according to schedule
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper procedures
- Keep kitchen, dish area, and workspaces clean and organized
- Label, date, and store food items correctly
- Monitor and log food, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwashing temperatures
- Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies
- Help maintain inventory and report low stock to leadership
- Use equipment safely and report any maintenance needs
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other departments
- Provide friendly, respectful interactions with residents, families, and team members

- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality

Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses/Certification

Food Handlers Permit, if required per state regulations.

Experience

Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Experience in food service is desired.

NOTE: Federal Child Labor Laws do not permit employees younger than 18 years of age to work with or repair, adjust, or clean power-driven machines such as meat slicers and commercial mixers. Therefore, individuals must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position.

Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Salary Description
$18 - $21/hour
