About this role

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The chiropractor will provide care for patients with health problems of the neuro-musculoskeletal system, which includes nerves, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. She/he will use spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, such as back and neck pain.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Provides consultations, exams, and treatment plans for chiropractic visits.

- Educates patients on the benefits of regular chiropractic maintenance.

- Assesses a patient’s medical condition by reviewing their medical history, listening to the patient’s concerns, and performing a physical examination.

- Performs medical examinations with focus on the patient’s posture and spinal condition.

- Analyzes the patient’s posture, spin, and reflexes.

- Diagnoses any health problems by reviewing patient’s medical history and information provided during observational questions and examination.

- Performs spinal adjustments and other bodily adjustments with the purpose of correcting the musculoskeletal system.

- Provides neuro-musculoskeletal therapy, which involves adjusting a patient’s spinal column and other joints by hand.

- Utilizes special chiropractic equipment for treatment purposes.

- Modifies the joints of the spine via the use of special devices and bare hands.

- Gives additional treatments, such as applying heat or cold to the patient’s injured areas.

- Performs medical testing as required.

- Creates a treatment plan and management plan that is to be followed by the patient.

- Informs patients on the appropriate exercises to help rehabilitate and achieve speedy recovery.

- Refers patients to other health care professionals, if needed.

- Charts Chiropractic visit notes into electronic software.

- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1 year experience required, 2 years preferred.

- Previous experience working with an integrative care team within a clinical care setting preferred.

- Knowledgeable in integrative medicine approaches and appropriate application including nutritional consultation, massage therapy, body work techniques, traditional Chinese medicine, guiding imagery, integrative psychotherapy, and functional medicine.

- Bachelor’s degree required.

- Doctorate degree from an accredited chiropractic school in the US required.

- Current Doctor of Chiropractic License in good standing in the State of California is required.

- Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.

LANGUAGE:

- Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.

- Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) an asset.

STATUS:

This is an FLSA exempt position.

This is an OSHA high-risk position.
