About this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of sheet metal stampings and assemblies.
- Conduct material, component, and dimensional testing throughout the manufacturing process.
- Perform and evaluate SPC and process capability studies.
- Complete Gauge R&R studies and maintain gauge records.
- Audit and evaluate check fixtures and assembly fixtures for accuracy and proper function.
- Prepare dimensional reports, identify quality concerns, and assist with corrective actions.
- Develop gauging methods and inspection instructions.
- Support PPAP submissions and other customer quality requirements.
- Conduct process and quality audits on the manufacturing floor.
- Assist with problem-solving, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement activities.
- Train production employees on proper use of gauges and check fixtures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in manufacturing quality, process control, or a related technical role.
- Experience with measurement, inspection, and test equipment.
- Working knowledge of SPC, Gauge R&R, capability studies, and dimensional inspection.
- Automotive, metal stamping, or sheet metal experience strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and analyze dimensional and quality data.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
