Facilities Technician

Our client is located in Rochester, NY and they are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team to work Monday - Friday from 7am - 3:30pm.

This position pays between $24 - 27/hour, based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Clean all vehicles that are scheduled for use for morning funerals
- Clean 1 st floor entrance, bathrooms, including any vacuuming, empty garbage in restrooms and ashtrays outside. Also, clean door windows.
- No cleaning on the first floor to be done when people arrive for morning services, basement hallways and casket selection room can be done at this time as well as any cleaning upstairs or in garage areas.
- Once morning services are complete, visitation rooms should be cleaned: Remove flowers and place in garage, place family belongings into plastic bins and place in closet, vacuum room, clean table tops and rearrange the chairs.
- Help set room up for any afternoon calling hours. Place flowers on stands.
- Check outdoor areas for papers, debris etc. Front entrance to have special attention. In winter, shoveling and snowblowing should be completed.
- Vacuum upstairs offices, hallway. Empty waste baskets. Throw trash out
- Throw trash out from all baskets.
- Light duty repairs to building structure/equipment

WEEKLY duties to include:

- Dusting of furniture in hallways, glass cleaner on tabletops
- Casket selection room vacuumed and caskets dusted or window cleaner for metal caskets
- Clean inside of vehicles
- Clean upstairs bathroom
- Vacuum stairwells
- Vacuum basement hallways
- Sweep/spray water on garage floors, including flower room
- Mop bathroom floors
- Light bulb replacement

MONTHLY duties include:

- Pull furniture away from walls, dust walls, vacuum
- Clean window surfaces inside & out
- Dust corners etc.

SEASONAL duties include:

- Wax cars
- Gutter cleaning
- Help plant annuals and other various chores
- Snowplowing
- Clean throw rugs (from entrance areas) as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Incumbent should be able to lift, bend, stoop, stand without issue.

• Ability to multi-task and work in an environment that is sometimes very fast paced

• Light duty repair skills such as electrical, plumbing & carpentry

• Incumbent must be reliable

• Must have a calm and friendly manner. A pleasant and professional demeanor is required

• Ability to work in close proximity to the deceased

- Incumbent must have clean driving record
- Incumbent should be a good communicator/listener
- Incumbent should maintain good working relationships with co-workers, visitors, and vendors
- Ability to establish priorities, learn quickly, work independently, and also follow direction
