Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and review indirect tax workpapers and returns including, but not limited to sales and use tax, excise tax, beverage tax, and various other indirect tax returns
- Ensure compliance with US state and local tax laws, regulations, reporting requirements and deadlines
- Mentor, supervise, and develop tax staff and seniors
- Manage and lead tax audits and inquiries from state and local tax authorities, including documentation of tax positions taken and implementing process changes upon audit results
- Work closely with Director to identify risks and opportunities, develop tax strategies, and implement effective solutions, including preparing and maintaining documentation supporting tax positions, planning initiatives, and changes resulting from evolving business operations or tax laws
- Collaborate with accounting and finance on potential tax impacts to the business
- Travel up to 10% of the time
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 to 8 years of related experience and 3 plus years of leadership experience or High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) with 9 plus years of specific experience and 5 plus years of leadership experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master Degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
