Polisher

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. We are seeking an experienced stainless-steel Polisher for our Glendale, WI location. T he primary responsibility of the Polisher is to safely perform a variety of finishing functions such as precision smoothing, grinding, deburring, and polishing stainless steel to a range of finishes.

Duties/Responsibilities

- Operate hand and pedestal polishing/grinding machine to achieve required finish on stainless steel pump components.

- Operate hoist, cranes, pallet jacks, etc., to move equipment from one location to another.

- Review sequence of steps for each job and complete in a timely manner.

- Follow work instructions to comply with customer expectations and industry standards.

- Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.

- Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.

- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

- Know established techniques to achieve proper finishes in multiple features of a product.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

- Able to stand for 8 hours or more.

- Able to bend, turn, and lift up to 35lbs.

Education/Experience

- High School Diploma/GED

- At least 2 years of metal polishing required.
