PIH Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician to join our team at PIH Health Downey Hospital’s Women’s Center.

This is a Per Diem, 6+ month assignment designed to provide additional physician coverage and support the needs of our growing Women’s Center.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Labor & Delivery, and laborist services , with the ability to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative hospital environment.

Position Responsibilities

The OB/GYN Physician will provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including:

- Providing care to patients in Labor & Delivery and the Emergency Department.
- Managing routine and complex obstetric patients.
- Providing care for both low- and high-risk pregnancies.
- Evaluating and managing patients in Labor & Delivery.
- Performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic testing.
- Providing comprehensive care before, during, and after pregnancy.
- Evaluating and treating acute and chronic gynecologic conditions.
- Providing contraceptive counseling and care.
- Providing appropriate care related to menopause and women's health across the lifespan.
- Collaborating effectively with nurses, OB hospitalists, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and other members of the care team.
- Demonstrating strong communication, clinical judgment, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Performing additional duties and responsibilities as required by the department.

Required Skills and Experience
- Current California Medical License
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Board certification or eligibility through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
- Previous OB/GYN Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience with laborist services and low- and high-risk obstetrics
- Evidence of continuing medical education and professional development
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hospital setting
