We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Cardiology/Progressive Care Unit. Serving patients from New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah, this 198-bed facility provides advanced cardiovascular and acute care services to communities throughout the Four Corners region.
Position Overview
The Cardiology/PCU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced cardiac management. This role involves caring for individuals with complex cardiovascular conditions, including STEMI, Non-STEMI, stroke, post-catheterization recovery, and alcohol withdrawal. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where strong assessment skills and clinical decision-making are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients within the Cardiology and Progressive Care Unit.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and identify changes in patient condition.
Provide care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization procedures.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Support patient safety initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing or higher required.
Current Registered Nurse license required.
Minimum of 1 year of Intermediate Care (IMC) or Cardiology nursing experience required.
Two years of IMC or Cardiology experience preferred.
Strong cardiac assessment, monitoring, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to provide care in a high-acuity clinical environment.
