PRIDESTAFF is currently seeking a BANDER for a large paper distribution company located in McCook, IL.
This is primarily a PACKAGING role that will involve the occasional use of stand-up forklift.
1st shift
7AM-4PM M-F
$18.00 per hour
Primary Responsibilities: Accurately and efficiently package product in accordance with quality and quantity specifications Interact with management, customer service, sales and other warehouse personnel in an efficient, accurate and professional manner while performing daily responsibilities Work with the production department to understand the production palleting schedule for each day and the quantities needing to be produced each day Work to pallet and band up completed materials prepared by production center Verify the correct labels are used on finished pallet Ensure that all packaging takes place in accordance with packaging, quantity, and quality standards for each particular product When palleting finished product, ensure all items are counted accurately, shrink wrapped in accordance with that stock’s standards, labeled, and boxed appropriately Properly package, band, and wrap all skids in order to protect them in transit Properly utilize various packaging equipment including but not limited to pallet jacks, banding equipment, shrink wrapping machinery and corner boards to handle goods effectively Put away reported material utilizing our inventory system and driving a stand up forklift As assigned, work with the production supervisor to inspect returned stock for quality issues and repackage material as needed Work to ensure a clean work area by emptying garbage as needed, cleaning equipment, restock materials and sweeping work areas in accordance with daily and weekly housekeeping standards Alert management of any unsafe conditions or activities in or around the facility Provide backup to other functions as assigned
Job Requirements: MUST have previous stand-up forklift experience and certification! High school diploma or GED preferred At least 6 months to 1 year previous warehouse experience required Experience with an RF scanner system preferred Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English General computer skills Ability to lift and handle cartons weighing in excess of 50 pounds consistently throughout the day Detail-oriented and organized Adaptability to changing demands Dependable - arriving on time, with good overall attendance, and reliable transportation Must be willing to work OT as needed
