About this role
The purpose of this position is to conduct high-quality research and analysis of domestic and international financial markets, develop quantitative analytical frameworks and market indicators to support monetary policy and financial stability objectives, and inform the Executives of the South African Reserve Bank (Bank) on financial market developments. The role is responsible for preparing and delivering presentations to the Bank’s committees, particularly the Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Stability Committee. The Senior Financial Markets Specialist will be expected to guide specialists at lower levels. In addition, the incumbent will contribute to and lead projects within the Financial Markets Department related to the implementation of monetary policy, foreign exchange policy, financial market development, and the enhancement of analytical frameworks, including the financial conditions index, risk premium measures and yield curve analysis.
