NOW HIRING: INDUSTRIAL GEARBOX TECHNICIAN

Delta Steel Technologies is looking for an experienced Industrial Gearbox Technician to join our repair and assembly team.
We need a hands-on mechanical technician who can tear down, inspect, diagnose, repair, measure, and rebuild industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment.
This is NOT a parts-changing job. We need someone who can determine why a gearbox failed, what needs to be repaired or replaced, and how to rebuild it correctly.

Responsibilities

- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild industrial gearboxes.

- Identify bearing, gear, shaft, seal, lubrication, alignment, and overheating issues.

- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other tools.

- Check backlash, endplay, shaft runout, fits, and gear contact patterns.

- Document inspection findings and repair recommendations.

- Work with machinists, welders, QC, and assembly personnel.

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience repairing industrial gearboxes, rotating equipment, or heavy mechanical assemblies.

- Strong knowledge of gears, bearings, shafts, seals, fits, lubrication, and alignment.

- Ability to safely work with heavy components, cranes, lifting equipment, and shop tools.

- Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently.

Steel mill or heavy industrial experience is a strong plus.

Pay & Schedule

$30–$40/hour , based on experience

Full-Time | Day Shift | Overtime as Needed

Experience with large reducers, mill drives, roll drives, crane gearboxes, precision measurement, rigging, machining, or welding is a plus.

If you know how to tear down a gearbox, figure out what went wrong, and rebuild it right, we want to talk to you.
