Director, Specialist Solutions Engineering

The Director, Specialist Solutions Engineering is responsible for the day-to-day management of AHEAD’s managed services Specialist Solutions Engineers while also setting strategic technical direction for the team. SSEs are technical experts who collaborate with AHEAD Account Teams to identify, qualify, and build solutions supporting its customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage a team of 6-8 cross-functional Specialist Solutions Engineers.

- Present AHEAD’s value proposition to customers and strategic partners.

- C ollaborate with the VP, M anaged Services Sales and Client Directors on sales plays leveraging SSEs and the services portfolio.

- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development.

- Oversee SSE career development, including external training and internal career roadmaps.

- Build relationships with key partners and their field leadership teams.

- Foster relationships with customer stakeholders and project sponsors.

- Manage key performance metrics for each SSE .

- Develop processes leveraging distribution partners’ SE teams for burst capacity.

- Oversee AHEAD’s internal config/quote desk function.

- Collaborate with Delivery Directors on sold-engagement progress.

- Maintain a feedback loop between presales, delivery, and the customer.

Qualifications

- 3-5 years successfully managing/building teams of technical sales professionals.

- 3-5 years hands-on experience with AHEAD’s key technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

- Comfortable presenting at the executive level.

- Skilled at motivating others.

- Strong team player with partners.

- Customer-focused within deadlines.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
