We are   searching   for o ur next group of engineering   co-ops   for a   6-month   assignment at our Beverly, MA ,   facility.   Our co- op program is designed to   develop   early career   talent   and build a strong pipeline   of   future engineers . Students gain   hands-on   exposure , work on   real projects , and make   meaningful contributions . Throughout the program, co- ops build   technical skills , strengthen   problem-solving   abilities , and gain   real-world   experience   that enhances both their academic learning and future career opportunities.

About the Role

As a   Manufacturing   Engineer   Co -op (Production Support) ,   you’ll   be exposed to the world of production operations that work with complex mechanical and electrical systems   and   strives   to ensure we   maintain   efficient manufacturing processes.

This position offers a strong learning environment for students eager to deepen their engineering skill set while contributing to real manufacturing solutions.

What   You’ll   Do

- Support manufacturing systems for complex mechanical and electrical operations related to assembly of subassemblies, wire harnessing, robots, pneumatic, vacuum, cooling, and high-pressure systems, and module build and test

- Design and build of fixturing to aid in the assembly of complex products

- Develop or revise module and subassembly build procedures

- Originate corrections of BOMs and documentations to ensure fulfillment of Form, Fit, and Function while   maintaining   design intent

- Optimize   the quality and productivity of a manufacturing cell by implementing lean principles, including but not limited to defining and documenting standard work via visual instructions (Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.)

- Perform root cause analyses for quality defects and implement   appropriate containment   and corrective actions

- Drive prompt resolution of a diverse spectrum of product issues

What   We’re   Looking For

- Applicants must be candidates for a Bachelor of Science degree in any of the following fields: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or similar programs.

- Experience with basic engineering tools such as   Solidworks /Creo and AutoCAD

- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment such as calipers, hand tools, DMMs, etc.

Commute Information:

To support students commuting to our facility,   Axcelis   provides a   $1,000 travel stipend , paid as a   lump sum in the first paycheck . Our headquarters in   Beverly, MA , is   located   directly off   Route 128   and just   10 minutes from the Beverly Train Station   for those using public transportation.

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE

$20.42 - $35.70

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on

multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work

location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as

you develop within the role.

Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the

Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular

employees working 20+ hours a week).
