MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC — FORKLIFTS & SHOP TRUCKS
Full-Time | Day Shift | Overtime as Needed
Pay: $28–$32/hour based on experience
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair forklifts, yard trucks, service trucks, company vehicles, and other shop equipment.
We need a hands-on mechanic who can diagnose problems, perform repairs, complete preventive maintenance, and keep equipment safe and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts, trucks, and mobile equipment.
- Troubleshoot diesel and natural gas engines, electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, and drivability issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, lubrication, and safety checks.
- Repair hydraulic hoses, fittings, cylinders, valves, and leaks.
- Inspect equipment for safety concerns and remove unsafe equipment from service when needed.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair needs.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and support daily shop operations.
- Follow all safety procedures when working around fuel systems, batteries, hydraulic equipment, and heavy machinery.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience repairing forklifts, trucks, heavy equipment, diesel, natural gas, or similar mobile equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, and steering problems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
- Ability to safely use diagnostic tools, multimeters, pressure gauges, hand tools, jacks, and shop equipment.
- Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently.
Preferred: Forklift mechanic experience, Toyota/Hyster/Yale/Crown or similar equipment, diesel and natural gas experience, hydraulic repair, electrical diagnostics, welding/fabrication, or heavy industrial maintenance.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
