About this role

- Participate in supervised practicum activities aligned with the student’s academic program and learning objectives.

- Observe and support individual, group, and community-based behavioral health services as appropriate to placement level and program needs.

- Assist with client engagement, recovery support, psychoeducation, case coordination, and documentation under supervision.

- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.

- Attend supervision, team meetings, trainings, and program orientation activities as assigned.

- Follow agency policies, safety procedures, documentation expectations, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Learning Opportunities

- Exposure to nonprofit behavioral health operations and multidisciplinary care teams.

- Experience with substance use disorder treatment, mental health recovery supports, crisis response, outreach, residential or outpatient services, and related program areas.

- Development of professional skills in client-centered communication, documentation, ethical practice, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented service delivery.

- Opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world service delivery in a supportive supervision environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current enrollment in an accredited academic program requiring practicum, internship, field placement, clinical observation, or service-learning hours in behavioral health.

- Interest in serving individuals affected by substance use disorder, mental health challenges, homelessness, justice involvement, or related barriers.

- Strong communication, professionalism, dependability, and willingness to learn.

- Ability to pass required background checks, screenings, trainings, and onboarding requirements.

- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful but not required.
