About this role

WALTZING MATILDA AVIATION LLC

Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician · CRJ200

Dallas Love Field (KDAL) · $180,000 base · Full-time · Relocation and per diem provided · Reports to the Director of Maintenance

Waltzing Matilda Aviation is an FAA Part 135 aircraft management and charter operator. We are adding the CRJ200 to our certificate for a charter program based at Dallas Love Field, and we are hiring the technician who will own the fleet — first through an extended induction and refurbishment assignment at the maintenance facility, then as the senior maintenance presence at the Dallas line station.

THE ROLE

Phase one · Resident technical representative

From Q4 2026 through delivery. On-site at the maintenance facility, with travel and per diem covered.

- Represent the operator through heavy check, refurbishment and return to service. Witness and verify work packages, and own the discrepancy list from initial inspection through final acceptance.

- Audit records for FAA conformity: airworthiness directive and service bulletin status, life-limited part traceability, and 8130-3s.

- Coordinate the buyer modification program — interior, connectivity and livery.

- Lead technical acceptance.

Phase two · Dallas base

From entry into service. Based at Dallas Love Field (KDAL).

- Stand up the station: hangar, tooling, ground support equipment, and parts provisioning.

- Run day-to-day line maintenance and own compliance under the continuous airworthiness maintenance program — scheduled inspections, deferrals and MEL management, required inspection items, and mechanical interruption reporting.

- Administer the CF34-3B1 engine program: utilization reporting, borescope and trend monitoring, and engine change coordination.

- Recruit, train and supervise a small technician team.

- Support FAA conformity inspections and proving flights as the type is added to the certificate.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate in good standing.

- Seven or more years on the CRJ200 / CL-65 platform with CF34-3B1 experience, across both heavy check and line environments.

- Demonstrated work under a Part 121 or Part 135 continuous airworthiness maintenance program.

- Strong records and technical publications discipline.

- Eligible to hold required inspection item authorization.

- A track record of running a station or a shift with minimal supervision.

- Valid passport and the ability to travel and work outside the United States for extended periods.

- Willing to relocate to the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

- Eligible for a TSA criminal history records check and for DOT and FAA drug and alcohol testing under 14 CFR Part 120. Valid driver's license.

PREFERRED

- Inspection Authorization; engine run and taxi qualification on type.

- Experience supporting a type addition to a Part 135 certificate, including conformity inspection.

- Rockwell Collins Pro Line 4 avionics.

- Established relationships with CRJ maintenance providers and parts suppliers.

COMPENSATION

- $180,000 base salary

- Travel and per diem fully covered for the induction assignment; relocation assistance to Dallas.

- Health, dental and vision. Paid time off.
