About this role
Argus is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, Generation Fuels, to drive the adoption, relevance and commercial growth of Argus benchmarks, market intelligence and related services across Asia’s generation fuels markets, including LNG, coal, biomass, petcoke and renewables.
The role is responsible for developing and executing market engagement strategies that increase benchmark adoption and indexation, identify new pricing and product opportunities, and strengthen Argus’ position as a trusted source of price discovery, transparency and market insight.
Working closely with customers, exchanges, traders, producers, utilities, financial participants and internal editorial, consulting, sales and marketing teams, the position acts as the voice of the market and translates commercial and industry needs into initiatives that support benchmark growth, product innovation and long-term revenue development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Asia Generation Fuels business development strategy, aligned with sector objectives and growth priorities.
- Identify, originate and advance opportunities to increase subscriptions, benchmark adoption and indexation of Argus price assessments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on commodity pricing, benchmark governance, market transparency and risk management.
- Translate market needs into new benchmarks, pricing solutions, product enhancements and market engagement strategies.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with key market participants, including producers, utilities, traders, exchanges, financial institutions and industry influencers.
- Lead market engagement initiatives to strengthen the visibility, credibility and relevance of Argus benchmarks.
- Represent Argus through industry events, conferences, customer forums and thought leadership activities.
- Partner with editorial, consulting, sales and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities and deliver successful go-to-market initiatives.
- Develop compelling value propositions and messaging that support benchmark adoption and commercial growth.
- Identify opportunities to expand market transparency through digital and trading solutions, including Argus Open Markets (AOM).
Skills and Experience
- Ethical, fair and of high integrity.
- Strong academic record, with a degree from a respected university.
- Intellectual Dexterity: the ability to analyse complex problems and pick up new concepts and strategies quickly.
- Hands-on: Demonstrable experience of having worked in a high energy, fast growth, environment.
- Strong personal credibility and communication skills, accomplished in individual, group, business and social settings.
- Be able to balance an imaginative and highly creative approach while at the same time demonstrating the pragmatism that is needed to work and get things done in a high growth environment.

Travel
- Around 25% is expected for this position.
Hours
- Monday through Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
- Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion.
