$21-$23 per hour

MAIN FUNCTION:

- To provide day-to-day clerical support and fundamental nursing tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Gather client information for utilization review and deliver to the UR Department.

- Obtain vital signs as needed.

- Will work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Registered Nurse.

- Responsible for the answering and screening of telephone calls.

- Maintain client’s room board.

- Obtain insurance information for new admissions and fax to the Intake Department and to the Pharmacy.

- Perform electrocardiograms on all clients, use of intoximeter, taking client’s blood pressure, pulse and temperature.

- Enter data, import pictures and run reports in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

- Assist in obtaining urine samples on clients and stat results.

- Admission process of clients which will include: Admitting pictures, vital signs, blood pressure, breathalyzer, temperatures as needed.

- Communicate with other staff members pertaining to client issues.

- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff.

- All other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

- Proficient in performing electrocardiograms, use of intoximeter, taking client’s vital signs.

- Knowledge and ability to follow all new client admission procedures:

- Knowledge of and instruction to new clients on basic policies and rules.

- Knowledge of and instruction to new clients on proper handwashing technique.

- Proficient in computer usage including EMR system, Microsoft Outlook and other information systems.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- High school graduate

- CPR certified

- Knowledge of 12 step program

- Clean drivers license

- This employee must have proficient phone skills; be professional in behavior; and appearance.
