Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee the work of technicians and mechanics, ensuring they follow proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Monitor and Evaluate Performance: Regularly assess employee performance and provide feedback to help them improve.
- Training and Development: Train new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff to keep their skills up to date.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Partner with HR for discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Manage the Rebuild shop to utilize manpower best and meet customer requirements.
- Work with the factory and service department to meet customer needs.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure all work meets the required standards.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Coordinate job scheduling and manage workflow to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Ensure the shop complies with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among employees.
- Effectively communicate with management, other departments, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with cost estimates and budget planning for rebuilding shop projects.
- Assist customers in resolving warranty issues and provide the necessary documentation.
- Process part orders for compressor rebuilds.
- Source and acquired parts and materials essential for compressor work.
- Assist with compressor rebuilding quotes and proposal writing.
- Maintain customer relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Ability to guide rebuilding techs.
- Knowledge of the Industrial Refrigeration Service business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
- Proven ability to work independently and confidently, with limited discretion, and to self-proof his/her work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- PC literate and proficient in Excel and Word
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A degree is desirable but not required; industry experience is very important.
- Minimum of three years experience in Industrial Refrigeration as a successful compressor rebuilder
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to travel 50% time of the time.
