Job Title: Bistro Associate Location: Courtyard by Marriott – Newark-Granville, OH Reports To: General Manager / Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Bistro Associate is a key member of our Courtyard by Marriott team, responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and attentive service to guests in the Bistro restaurant and bar. We are looking for a full-time attendant during our second shift with weekend availability, as needed. This role involves preparing and serving Starbucks beverages, made-to-order food items, and alcoholic beverages, while ensuring a welcoming and upbeat dining experience that reflects the Marriott service culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide outstanding service professionally and engagingly.
- Take guest orders, process transactions accurately, and deliver food and beverages promptly.
- Prepare Starbucks specialty drinks and ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met.
- Follow all food and beverage preparation procedures to maintain cleanliness and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up, restocking, and cleaning work areas.
- Operate the point-of-sale system, handle cash/credit transactions, and balance cash drawers as needed.
- Uphold Courtyard by Marriott and brand standards for guest satisfaction, food quality, and service excellence.
- Work collaboratively with fellow associates to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service or food & beverage experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age 21 to serve alcohol.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first attitude.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Handlers Permit and/or Alcohol Servers Permit if available. Can be obtained through classes we will have provided.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Move safely and quickly in a food service environment.
