We are seeking an experienced Test Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership and expertise in the planning, development, execution, and documentation of testing activities supporting advanced Aerospace and Defense programs in conjunction with cross functional teams in the development of an Artificial Intelligence tool. This role serves as a key technical authority, ensuring all test programs are executed in accordance with military standards, customer requirements, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance expectations that is created by the AI tool.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience leading environmental, qualification, functional, reliability, and certification testing efforts within highly regulated aerospace and defense environments. This individual will work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, program management, and customer stakeholders to ensure products meet stringent performance, reliability, and compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

What You Will Do:

Technical Leadership & Test Strategy

- Serve as the primary technical expert for Aerospace and Defense testing activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, program leadership, and cross-functional teams to develop and improve test strategies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and oversight throughout all phases of test planning, execution, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Support proposal development, technical reviews, and customer engagements as the testing authority.

Test Planning & Execution

- Develop and review detailed test plans, procedures, protocols, and reports.
- Lead qualification, environmental, functional, reliability, acceptance, verification, and validation testing activities.
- Ensure testing objectives align with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate laboratory, equipment, instrumentation, and resource requirements necessary to execute testing programs successfully.

What You Will Bring:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of Aerospace and Defense testing experience.
- Demonstrated expertise supporting product qualification and environmental testing programs.
- Strong understanding of test planning, execution, documentation, and data analysis methodologies.
- Experience working in highly regulated aerospace, defense, or avionics environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, requirements documents, and military standards.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions with customers, engineering teams, and program leadership.

Pay Range: $70.00 - $80.00/hour

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site position located in Cedar Rapids, IA.

- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
- Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, no travel is required.
