About this role

Role s Mission:

Because 5 th -8 th Ministries is committed to helping students take their next steps in maturity with Jesus, the West Campus 5 th -8 th Associate Minister will equip leaders to disciple students, create environments that help the student/leader relationship thrive, and help lead 5 th -8 th grade trips.

- As an equipper of leaders, the West Campus 5 th -8 th Associate Minister will identify, recruit, and train leaders to better disciple students. He will intentionally shepherd male leaders, so they show up consistently and intentionally in the lives of students, partner with parents, create a safe place for current and new students, and be a face of the 5 th -8 th ministry to the community.

- The West Campus 5 th -8 th Associate Minister will work alongside the 5 th -8 th Team to create a compelling and welcoming weekly Sunday morning program for 5 th grade students and bolster the Home Group ministry model for Middle School students.

- As a connector, the West Campus 5 th -8 th Associate Minister will extend the reach of our ministry by building relationships with local schools and will do regular contact work with those schools.

Christ Chapel's Mission:

To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully developing follower of Christ (Col 1:28-29).

Roles Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the West Campus 5 th -8 th Minister.

Role Details: Full-time | Salaried | Exempt

Qualifications

Roles Requirements:

- Must be a Christian with an Elder-qualified character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)

- Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently, and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23)

- Must embrace our church s doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our philosophy of ministry both in public and in private

- PREFERRED – a bachelors degree or seminary degree and a minimum of 2 years church or parachurch experience in a similar field.

Character:

- Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently, and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in his/her daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23) as well as among others.

- Must be a lover of the souls of men/women with a heart that longs to see them become more like Jesus.

- Must be a man/woman of prayer.

- Must be a joy to supervise (Hebrews 13:17)

Calling:

- Must embrace Christ Chapel's doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our doctrine and philosophy of ministry both in public and in private.

- Must embrace a work philosophy of planning and delivering biblically appropriate, God-honoring, grace-based results/outcomes.

- Must be able to articulate a clear sense of calling to the Gospel ministry.

- As our candidate process moves forward, we must jointly sense Gods calling to Christ Chapel, both sides having a sense of His intertwining our hearts and lives together (Acts 20:28).

Competency:

- Mental Ability

Must be able to manage time wisely and efficiently.

- Must be able to problem solve, think on their feet, and make discerning decisions.

- Spiritual Gift

If a believer receives only one gift (1 Pet 4:10), then the ideal candidate would have the spiritual gift of administration (Rom 12; 1 Cor 12; Eph 4; 1 Pet 4)

- Education (preferred educational qualifications needed for this role)

Bachelors degree

- Experience (preferred experience needed for this role)

- At least two years of previous full-time ministry work.

- Interpersonal attitudes or skills List all required/preferred attitudes/skills needed for this role.

Must have a track record of taking initiative.

- Must have a track record of creativity.

- Must have a track record of being inclusive yet discerning toward those who participate in the ministry.

Roles Additional information:

- This role is required to work several trips that involve overnight stays of multiple days.

- This role leads in 2 distinct weekly ministries.
