About this role

Summary:

Safely load and unload machinery with proper tooling and products.  Perform manual tasks such as package, crate, label, count, and sort products.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  Works under immediate supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures
- Ensure that all guards and safety equipment have been installed and properly checked
- Required to meet or exceed production standards
- Required to maintain quality standards on all products
- Safely load and unload machinery with the proper tooling and product as directed by team leader or supervisor
- Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the department
- Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
- Required to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
- Required to understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints whenever required by operation
- Select the proper tooling and process set-up as directed by team leader or supervisor
- Safely assemble parts on line to manufacture items for customer fullfullment.  This may include lift, screw, push, pull, count, sort, crate, package, label items
- Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements
- Perform other tasks as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

- A thorough understanding of the hazard communication program
- Must have a total understanding of the shop packets released to the shop floor
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing environment

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or its equivalent, desired

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

- Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner
- Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time
- Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required)
- Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required)
- Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion.  Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required)
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts
- Exposure to extreme seasonal temperature conditions
