- Position Summary:
- This position is responsible for taking reservations and welcoming, seating and presenting menus to guests according to department policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Makes reservations via the Nightpro and Open Table systems

Coordinates all guest seating in accordance with front of house operations

Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables

Takes guest information and quotes accurate wait times and minimums

Assists in keeping general admission and VIP lines in order

Answers phones, assists guests and takes messages for management

Communicates effectively with sales and catering management regarding large party inquiries

Answers guest questions concerning restaurant and nightlife operations

Interacts with all guests and team members throughout service

Promotes upcoming venue events and reaches out to VIP guests and regular clients to make reservations

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleans and organizes the Host area and ensures menus are stocked and are in presentable condition

Maintains all comps, paper comp voids, special request forms, coupon vouchers and tickets, as prescribed by the outlet

Assists department manager in opening and closing duties including arranging the room, setting tables and preparing for special events

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Previous guest service experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

Competencies :  Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

Thorough knowledge of operational policies with regard to hours of operation, types of menus offered, restaurant concepts and marketing programs

Knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws including proper identification, refusal of service and shutoff procedures

Property wide knowledge of Mohegan Sun for the purposes of assisting guests

Training Requirements:

Working knowledge of the NightPro and Open Table systems

Outlet-specific standard operating procedures

SMART alcohol awareness

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand during an entire shift

Must be able to reach, bend and stoop for extended periods of time

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions

Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
