JOB SUMMARY:

Manage a team of drivers, engage with your drivers individually to drive maximum utilization, best in class service numbers, and the highest level of safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- W ork with planning team to drive best utilization of your fleet, driving miles, and revenue

- Ensure driver shift is covered in the event of an absence or call-off

- Ensure drivers are taking the correct routes. Toll-avoid management

- Onboarding new drivers with all things to ensure a successful start up

- Manage driver fleet expectations to ensure the best in class service numbers and to meet driver activity, utilization, and retention goals

- Ensure drivers have fully utilized hours and accurate load data to prevent delays

- Report and work through any service issues with customer service and planning teams

- Ensure randoms are completed by the 20 th of every month, performance entries and safety coaching/training are completed on time

- Responsible for ensuring the driver is complying with the following: physicals, ETP, Drivers license

- Complete Non-returning dispatches each day

- Truck PMs-coordinating the drop and pickup of trucks for service

- Ensure drivers meet HOS requirements and maintain accurate ETAs and ready times

- Assist the Asset team with managing truck and trailers

- Understand customer procedures with Haz-mat, weight restrictions, claims, cargo, detention and security

- Complete the AM & PM check call process thoroughly and on-time daily, within 3 hours of scheduled start time for AM check calls and complete PM check calls before leaving for the day

- Conduct annual driver performance reviews

- Proactively support the organizations goals and objectives

- The ability to work well in a team environment is essential. This includes placing the overall needs of the professional team above personal preferences to accomplish work objectives.
