DEPARTMENT: Wound Clinic
JOB TITLE: Nurse Practitioner | Advanced Practice Provider
SHIFT: FTE 0.2 (16 hours bi-weekly) Part-time
Summary/Objective
Provides medical direction and treatment of patients within the practitioners scope of practice and in collaboration with the supervising physician.
Essential Functions
- Exemplifies good customer service.
- Collaborates with Multidisciplinary team in office and hospital to assure continuity of care.
- Conducts a comprehensive assessment of patients, interprets medical histories, performs physical examinations, identifies problems, and formulates a plan of treatment per standard of care.
- Works closely with collaborating physician in treating or referring patients with significant abnormal findings.
- Participates in process improvement.
- Carries out all duties in a manner consistent with Camerons guiding principles and values and according to Camerons policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, as appropriate.
- Potential to be exposed to hazardous drugs and under periodic medical surveillance.
- Perform comprehensive assessment and evaluation of acute, chronic, and complex wounds.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized wound care treatment plans.
- Perform wound debridement and other appropriate wound care procedures within scope of practice.
- Assess wound healing progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical response.
- Order and interpret relevant diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging as needed.
- Prescribe medications, wound care products, and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, nutritionists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and clinical staff on wound prevention, treatment, dressing changes, and pressure injury prevention.
- Document assessments, procedures, treatment plans, and patient outcomes accurately and timely.
Qualifications
Experience
- Two years experience in designated clinic preferred
Skills/Competencies
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
Education Required
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Licenses Requirements
- Current License in the State of Indiana
- Certified/boarded, if applicable, in their specialty or willing to obtain within six months of hire
- Current DEA certificate without restriction
- Must be able to meet Cameron Hospitals credentialing requirements.
- Complete a CAQH and update annually as required.
Certifications
- BLS or ability to obtain within one month of hire
