About this role
Meta is seeking an experienced accounting leader to lead accounting for Meta's infrastructure portfolio, with accountability for US GAAP accounting and financial reporting across Meta's Compute, Storage, and Network infrastructure — spanning energy, cloud, and infrastructure procurement. The role supports one of Meta's most significant areas of capital investment. The individual must be a self-starter and work with limited direction while taking full ownership of their areas of responsibility. The individual will be expected to problem solve, manage projects, design innovative technologies that can scale our accounting processes, and exercise good business judgment while performing their functions. They are expected to have a demonstrated business acumen coupled with an accounting background and experience communicating and partnering with cross-functional business partners to facilitate information flow between teams and the Finance organization to effectively facilitate information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization.
Responsibilities
Lead a team covering energy, cloud, and infrastructure procurement accounting, setting priorities across the portfolio and strengthening the technical bench strength required to support a rapidly growing infrastructure footprint
Review and advise on accounting for Meta's energy portfolio, including power purchase agreements, determining leases, VIE, derivatives, and executory contract treatments, and documenting conclusions for significant arrangements
Lead accounting for cloud computing arrangements and committed cloud capacity
Serve as the accounting decision-maker on new and non-standard procurement structures, conducting comprehensive contract reviews and partnering with cross-functional partners to evaluate and document the accounting treatment and financial reporting
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and cross-functional teams globally, including Supply Chain Operations, Technical Sourcing, Engineering, Product, Legal, Tax, Technical Accounting, SEC Reporting and Internal Audit, and facilitate effective communication and information flow between cross-functional business partners and the finance organization
Design and scale processes, systems, and internal controls to support a rapidly growing and increasingly complex infrastructure portfolio, and own the design and operating effectiveness of critical Sarbanes-Oxley controls
Prepare and present quarter-end financial reporting packages to Finance leadership, surfacing key insights, trends, and operational drivers, and key footnote disclosures including purchase commitments
Serve as the primary point of contact with external auditors on fixed asset, energy, cloud, and capital expenditure accounting matters
Drive process improvements and automation, including leveraging AI tooling, to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial reporting
Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for the Infrastructure portfolio, and design scalable close processes that support growth without adding headcount at the same rate
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields
12+ years of accounting experience
Deep technical and operational knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying accounting guidance to complex, non-standard commercial arrangements, including contract review and documentation of accounting conclusions
Knowledge and experience with risk assessment and internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley
A strong business acumen with partnership experience
Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with leadership
Skilled in comprehending end-to-end systems that impact accounting & financial reporting processes
Experience with financial statements and financial analysis
Experience with Microsoft & Google tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs)
Experience in executing and delivering high-quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment
Experience analyzing complex accounting issues, identifying root causes, and developing solutions in ambiguous or evolving business environments Experience with energy, infrastructure, or cloud computing arrangements
Combination of experience working in public accounting and a technology company
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Demonstrated experience in optimizing or designing scalable accounting processes, and a track record of driving system implementations to support fast-growing, complex business environments
