About this role
If you've built a strong foundation in cost consultancy and are looking for the next step, this is an opportunity to move into one of the fastest-growing and most technically complex areas of the property market.
Joining a leading international cost and project management consultancy, you'll work across major Data Centre developments in Melbourne, taking greater ownership of projects, strengthening your client relationships and continuing to build your reputation within a sector experiencing significant investment and growth.
For a Senior Quantity Surveyor, it offers a clear opportunity to develop towards Associate level. For someone already operating at Associate level, there's scope to take greater ownership of clients, projects and junior team members while continuing to grow within an established international business.
Why you'll enjoy this role
Build specialist Data Centre experience – develop your expertise within one of the fastest-growing sectors of the property and construction market
Work on major, technically complex projects – gain exposure to large-scale developments where strong cost and commercial advice genuinely matters
Take greater ownership – lead projects and commercial outcomes rather than remaining one part of a larger delivery team
Strengthen your client relationships – work directly with clients, consultants and contractors while continuing to develop as a trusted commercial advisor
Develop your leadership capability – mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and play a more senior role within the Melbourne team
Build an international career – join an established global consultancy with access to experienced cost and project management professionals across Australia and internationally
Keep progressing – whether you're stepping up from Senior QS or already operating at Associate level, there's room to continue expanding your responsibility, influence and career
What you'll be doing
You'll take a senior role in the commercial delivery of Data Centre projects, providing cost management advice across both pre and post contract stages.
Your involvement will span feasibility and cost planning through procurement, tendering and construction, with responsibility for cost reporting, forecasting, variations, progress claims, value engineering, commercial risk and final accounts.
You'll work directly with clients and project stakeholders, taking ownership of key commercial deliverables and helping clients make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
As one of the more experienced members of the team, you'll also support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors, contribute to strong client relationships and continue developing your leadership capability as your career progresses.
What you'll need
Strong Quantity Surveying experience within a cost consultancy environment
Experience across both pre and post contract cost management
Strong cost planning, estimating and commercial management capability
Experience delivering Data Centres or other technically complex projects will be highly regarded
Confidence managing projects and working directly with clients and senior stakeholders
The ability to mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors
Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
AIQS and/or RICS membership, or progress towards accreditation, will be highly regarded
