Purpose and Scope

Leads t e am in receipt, i n vent o ry, i n spection, m a intenance, ser v icing, functional testing of and storage of ass i gned equipment. Ma i ntains, packs, a nd inven t ories prefabri ca ted modul a r m e tal s oft wall / hard wall st r uctu r es, an d as s ociated equi p ment. R esponsible for the day-to-day BEAR shop o perations a nd com m uni c ates w ith the Sit e Manager, O p e rat i ons Superintenden t , and B E AR Funct i onal Mana g er t o ass u re work p riorities are m e t. Pe r forms sheet metal skin repairs to she l ter e quipment and f abri c ates repairs to component s of s h elt e r and util i ty systems. Direct pre p arat i on of assets for exercise or actual d epl o ymen t s. E nsures compli a nce with P e rf o rman c e Work Statement (PWS) and A mentum IS O 9001 Q u alit y Management Syst e m (QMS).
Ess e ntial Responsibili t ies:
- Prim a ry s u pervi s or of B EAR technici a ns in the p er f orma n ce o f peri o dic i n spect i on, recons t itution, and maintenan c e actions on assig n ed ass e ts .
- Direct s maintenance a ccording to schedul e to m e et mont h ly goals by fol l owi n g tec h nical orders and m a nuals .
- Repairs, inspects, fa b ric a tes, cleans, op e rates, mai n tains, and p erf o rms corrosion controls, on asset s /eq u ipment
- Prepares assets/equipm e nt for shipments IAW a p plicabl e guidance .
- Perfo r ms servi c ing and/or m aint e nan c e of in-use a s s ets as req u ired.
- Direct s re p airs, inspects, clea n s, op e ra t es and m aintain contingency pl u mbing faci l ities such as L aundry, Kitche n , Latrines an d Show e rs modules.
- Perfo r ms visual inspecti o ns on newly received an d re t urned d eployed asset s .
- Responds to i n quiries c oncerning st o ra g e and sta t us of a ssigned equi p men t .
- Schedules and co o rdinat e s with the Work Control all shop work assignments.
- Instr u cts and trains p er s o nnel i n maintenance rep a i r techni q ues, i n spect s t h eir w ork performa n ce, i d ent i fies t r aining requirements, and docu m ent s traini n g rec o r ds.
- Conducts training on qualit y assurance, s af ety, M a t e ri a l Safety D ata Sheets , securit y
- awa r eness and ot h er s u b j ect s in ac c o rd a n ce wit h a ppropr i ate plans .
- Orient s new p e rsonnel t o work c r ews, pl a nned w o rk assignments, and est a b lished work methods.
- Researc h es ass e t/equip m ent discrepa n cies, i d ent i f ies them the Bear Funct i onal for
- coordi n ati o n with the cu s tomer, and form u lat e s p l ans for r epair .
- Evaluates maintena n ce s c hedul e s and analy z es p r oducti o n goals w eekl y.
- Reviews supply docum e nts to verify status of parts.
- Prepares and co m plet e s d ocu m ent a tion for L o c al P u rchase o r I L S-S supply documents, , ELMS requirements, up d ates historical data and w ork orders .
- Assist s in the erection, c onstruction and operati on of B E AR shelter s y stems an d associ a ted equi p men t to support real w orld exe r cises and cont i ngenc i es.
- St o cks , mai n tains , and r e quisi t ions parts, t o ols, and supplies to perf o rm re q uired work on asset s .
- Utili z es t e sting of diagnostic equipment while troubles h ooting hydraul i c, e l ectrical , fuel pneumat i c, and plumbi n g systems and com p onent s for serv i c eabi l ity.
- Dev e lops stand a rds fo r s ubordi n ates, im p lement s the pre c ept of quality as s urance wit h in the guidelines of the IS O 9001:2015 Quality Management S y stem Standa r d (Q M S), ensure s that a ll work i s c ompleted to qual i ty standards a nd provi d es employees wi t h feedb ac k on thei r pro g re s s.

- Prepares and submit s qualit y /material deficiency r ep o rts and techn i cal o rd e r chan g es as req u ired .

- Ins p ects hazard o us mat e r ials within t h e assigned work cent e r and coordin a tes the

- Ensures all t o ols, pers on nel protect i ve equipment , facili t ies, and clothi n g issued re m ain safe , s e cure, an d serv i ce a ble, reporti n g any d efici e nci e s.
- Oper a tes / maint a ins e l ect r ic hand/pneumatic po w e r tools (i.e., grinders, s an d ers, nee d l e guns, drill s , saws, a nd metal shears) and shop-s up port e d fabr i cati o n equi p ment.
- Ensures t h at t h e work area i s mai n tai n ed t o the h ighes t standards of clea n li n ess.
- Perfo r ms TDY w ithin t h e ar e a of o p er a tions as re quired by the U S Air F o r ce tasking . Perfo r m other dut i es as a ssi g ned.
Mi n i m u m Position Kno w ledge, Ski l ls, and Ab i lities R equ i red:
- High school diplom a or e q uival e nt.
- Background i n mechani c al/electri c al equipment o r faci l ities maintenan c e r e quired.
- 2 years demonst r ated ab i lity to s u pervi s e and lead t e ams.
- Gen er al knowledge o f e l ectrical, die s el and small gas engine m aint e nance a nd repa i r. Mini m um of 18 months of actual BEAR support m a intenance exper i en c e r equired . Forklift exp e rien c e requ i red .
- Abilit y to read, understa n d and i n terpret all techni c al data ass o ciated with Ci v il
- Engineeri n g an d BOB a s sets and related equipm e nt required.
- Maximo experi e n ce p r e f erred.
- Must be profi c ien t in the use computers and M i c r o soft Offi c e
- Must have organi z ational ski l ls and be able to under s tan d , spea k, read, and write English. Must pos s ess a valid home count r y drive r ’s lice n se and ability t o obtain host nation driver’s l i cen s e .
