IT Service Desk Officer

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

- Provide technical support for computer hardware, software and peripherals

- Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day user IT issues

- Manage and follow up on support requests through the IT ticketing system, ensuring proper documentatio n,
timely
resolution and ownership.

- Prepare, configure and deploy computers and user equipment

- Install and maintain operating systems, software and peripherals

- Maintain office IT equipment, printers, cabling and related technology

- Perform basic computer hardware maintenance and coordinate repairs

- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and assigned equipment

- Manage user accounts and access according to company procedures

- Assist with user-related systems administration

- Take ownership of assigned IT systems, ensuring their monitoring, maintenance and reporting as required

- Assist with the procurement and deployment of IT equipment

- Assisting the systems and net/sec teams on demand

- Document technical issues, repairs and equipment changes

- Provide guidance and support to users when required

- Provide support outside normal working hours when operationally required

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or any related field

- Good knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software and peripherals

- Hands-on experience with computer setup and configuration

- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Patient and professional approach to user support

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure

- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills

- Good written and spoken English

- Previous experience in a similar position will be considered an advantage

- IT certifications or professional qualifications will be considered an advantage
