About this role

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Contact patients before appointments to verify demographic and insurance information.

- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.

- Obtain prior authorizations or referrals when required.

- Review patient balances, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.

- Estimate patient out-of-pocket expenses.

- Collect copayments, deposits, or pre-service payments.

- Explain financial policies and payment options to patients.

- Document all patient communications and insurance verification in the medical record or practice-management system.

- Coordinate with providers, scheduling, billing, and registration teams to resolve issues before the patient's appointment.

- Identify missing or inaccurate information that could delay billing or reimbursement.

- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

- Provide professional customer service while handling sensitive financial and medical information.

- Other duties as assigned.
