About this role

Education Specialist provide:

- Academic, financial, career, or personal counseling, including, advice on entry or reentry to secondary or post secondary programs
- Career exploration and aptitude assessment
- Tutorial services
- Information on post secondary education
- Exposure to college campuses
- Information on student financial assistance
- Assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
- Mentoring
- Teach monthly workshops to 6 th  - 12 th  grade students in our 6 target schools
Assists with Talent Search Annual Performance reporting, Talent Search marketing, student recruitment, student stipends issuing, and outreach efforts to recruit disadvantaged  students and their parents.
- Maintains accurate eligibility Talent Search records and data on student success (attendance, promotion, and graduation rates) to be used in the U.S. Department of Education  Annual Performance Report and to create new programs for students each year.  All student date must be maintained in StudentAccess software.
- Education Specialist is required to travel to our 6 area public schools during the day for workshops, the evenings for open house and parent teacher conferences; community  agencies, out-of-town cultural and academic activities; and attend out of state U.S. Department of Education Technical Training.  Our 6 area public schools are Bauxite, Malvern,  Arkadelphia, Murfreesboro, Gurdon, and Bismarck with mileage being reimbursed at state approved rate.  Must have reliable transportation.
