The Software Development Manager is a vital member of a dedicated and motivated team supporting an application environment used to support mandatory reporting for FACT accreditation and CIBMTR reporting to ensure our standing as a transplant center. The Gateway Atlas system stores critical data related to research, spanning multiple decades, that is used to determine outcomes, and new therapies to alleviate the burden of cancer. With a unique opportunity to apply your leadership and technical skills, you will be an integral part of a team of developers and application support engineers, supporting a critical and complex environments. Within this role you will manage the technical operations for the Gateway Atlas applications and environments and ensure the ongoing support of regulatory reporting and research. This position works in close collaboration with a dedicated team and reports to the Associate Director - Gateway System.

Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the team to build their knowledge, creating a sustainable staffing environment.
- Work with vendors, IT Services staff, and clients to scope, develop, document, implement and maintain technical requirements within system infrastructure.
- Follow team standards for programming, configuration control, testing, quality assurance, and version control. Perform rigorous quality assurance validation to ensure that high-quality products are released.
- Coordinate and oversee complex programming projects assisting other programmers and staff as necessary.
- Apply your understanding of the Gateway Atlas system to ensure user requirements are met.
- Design, test, implement, monitor, and maintain real time and batch interfaces between multiple systems and applications (SQL server, Corepoint, EPIC).
- Develop data validation queries and system monitoring scripts.
- Build high quality well documented software.
- Monitor, maintain, and report application KPI’s including functional health and resource utilization.
- Work with a dedicated information security team to evaluate and proactively address security vulnerabilities.
- Participate in the development of a strategic application roadmap working with center IT architects.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of management experience, including experience managing multiple software development teams.
- Minimum of six years experience managing software developers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7-10 years relational database experience using SQL Server.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Programming skills using Windows C# to build Blazor Web sites, Windows Services, and Console based tools.
- Superb communication skills.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and skills.
- Confidentiality and Privacy - Requires strict confidentiality of administrative, employee and patient information, including compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Proven hands-on experience deploying and maintaining complex, custom, multi-tiered application systems.

- Knowledge of, and experience with, electronic health information standards (HL7).
- Experience with test automation.
- Experience with source code management tools (e.g. GitLab).
- Experience using 3rd party application APIs to integrate and extend functionality (e.g. JAMS).
- Report writer tool experience (e.g. Crystal reports, SSMS).
The annual base salary range for this position is from $149,365 to $248,914, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
