SAP IBP Consultant / Business Solutions Architect

Location: Richardson, TX (Onsite and Local Candidates ONLY)

Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

Work Authorization: US Citizens or Green Card holders preferred

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Consultant / Business Solutions Architect to support major ERP transformation and Parts Distribution Center (PDC) enablement initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing SAP IBP Demand, Supply & Response, and Inventory Optimization solutions to handle high-volume, exception-driven parts planning scenarios. Acting as a thought leader and change agent, you will bridge the gap between IBP capabilities and core business requirements to deliver scalable, high-performance planning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- IBP Solution Architecture & Implementation: Own the technical architecture and design for SAP IBP (Demand, Supply & Response, Inventory Optimization) and integration tools (CPI-DS, SDI, RTI).
- Configure and enhance IBP modules to support high-volume transaction processing (POs, order lines) and exception-driven planning workflows in alignment with enterprise IT strategy.

- Requirements Analysis & Gap Resolution: Lead deep-dive sessions to evaluate business requirements against standard IBP configurations.
- Identify gaps and provide clear recommendations regarding custom configurations, enhancements, workarounds, or alternative approaches.

- Exception-Based Planning & Performance Optimization: Design solutions supporting mass exception handling (shortages, excess, supply constraints) and rapid processing of large planning datasets.
- Optimize system responsiveness and throughput to meet high-volume operational standards.

- Business Engagement & Prioritization: Collaborate with Supply Chain, Parts Operations, and IT teams to translate business pain points into actionable IBP solutions.
- Define and manage a prioritized execution roadmap aligned to PDC enablement, ERP rollout phases, and post-go-live enhancements.

- Data & Planning Model Design: Define and optimize planning areas, key figures, and master data models.
- Oversee data readiness (cleansing, transformation, harmonization) and ensure alignment with ERP data structures and analytics platforms.

- Integration & End-to-End Flow: Support seamless integration between SAP IBP, SAP ECC/S4, and external systems (data lakes, reporting tools) to maintain an integrated Demand → Supply → Execution planning flow.

- PDC & ERP Transformation Support: Align IBP architecture with PDC blueprinting and rollout strategy, clarifying deliverables for each rollout phase.

- Full-Lifecycle Delivery & Governance: Drive the complete lifecycle from design, build, and UAT to deployment, hypercare, and continuous improvement.
- Document solution architecture and ensure strict adherence to SAP IBP best practices and corporate IT governance standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated SAP IBP implementation and architecture experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- Core Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in SAP IBP Demand Planning, Supply Planning / Response & Supply, and Inventory Optimization.
- Integration Tools: Demonstrated experience with SAP CPI-DS, SDI, RTI integrations, and SAP ERP (ECC/S4) environments.
- Operations: Strong background managing high-volume, exception-based planning environments and performing complex business requirement analyses.

Preferred Qualifications

- Domain experience in aftermarket, parts distribution, or distribution-heavy business models.
- Experience in multi-ERP consolidation or enterprise-wide transformation programs.
- Exposure to data lakes, advanced analytics platforms, and high-scale transaction environments.
- Proven ability to critically evaluate standard IBP limitations and propose viable alternative solutions.

Skills & Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional stakeholder management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills suited for fast-paced, evolving environments.
