Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role for a skilled professional who can independently set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC lathes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and safety.

What You'll Do

- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision machined components.

- Work from program notes, shop travelers, blueprints, and engineering drawings.

- Create efficient, operator-friendly setups that consistently meet quality requirements.

- Interpret and apply GD&T specifications.

- Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs, including G-code and M-code modifications.

- Inspect parts throughout the manufacturing process using precision measuring equipment.

- Recommend tooling and process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.

- Assist operators and team members with troubleshooting and problem resolution.

- Support machine maintenance and report equipment issues to management.

- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5-7 years of CNC Lathe setup experience.

- Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and best practices.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.

- Experience editing CNC programs and troubleshooting machining processes.

- Strong knowledge of machining tools, feeds, speeds, and cutting techniques.

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required Experience

- CNC Lathe Setup: 5-7 years minimum

- Precision inspection and measurement experience

- Manufacturing or machine shop environment experience

Education

- High School Diploma or GED required.

- Technical Trade School certification or Associate Degree preferred.

Shift:

- Swing: 2:30pm - 11:05pm
