The Commis 2 – Staff Canteen is responsible for assisting in daily food preparation, cooking, and service for the team member dining facility (staff canteen). This role ensures that hotel employees receive high-quality, nutritious, and hygienic meals in a clean and welcoming environment. The position plays a direct role in maintaining brand values, strictly adhering to Food Safety Management System (FSMS) guidelines, and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
- Canteen Food Prep & Service: Prepare mise-en-place , cook, and serve meals specifically for the team member canteen and assist other outlets when required.
- Quality & Consistency: Adhere to Anantara food preparation, taste, and presentation standards to provide nutritious and consistent meals for colleagues.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Ensure strict compliance with FSMS guidelines—including correct food storage, labelling, dating, stock rotation (FIFO), and sanitation practices.
- Sanitation & Maintenance: Keep working areas, food service lines, and kitchen equipment clean, tidy, and hygienic at all times.
- Property Care: Handle hotel property, kitchen tools, and machinery with care to prevent loss or damage.
- Checklists & Audits: Oversee and complete daily kitchen checklists, temperature logs, and cleaning schedules.
- Team & Event Support: Participate in departmental training sessions and assist with hotel banquets, special staff events, or functions as directed.
- Standards Compliance: Follow all personal hygiene, grooming, health & safety, and fire safety regulations.
