We're looking for an engineer who enjoys variety . In this role you'll work on deployments , CI/CD, automation , troubleshooting production issues , product configuration , and scripting . No two days are the same , so adaptability and a willingness to learn are essential .
Day in the Life of the Software Engineer (DevOps) :
- Collaborates with Product Development, Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to support the design and delivery of cloud solutions for enterprise applications.
- Contributes to the development and enhancement of cloud-native capabilities that improve the scalability , resilience, and delivery of products.
- Develops, tests, and maintains automation tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud delivery processes, with guidance from more experienced team members.
- Works with containerization technologies, Kubernetes, and Helm to deploy and support platform capabilities.
- Assists development teams in adopting cloud and DevOps practices and using the platform effectively.
- Supports the implementation and maintenance of monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for applications, infrastructure, and shared services.
- Investigates operational issues, contributes to troubleshooting activities, and escalates complex matters when appropriate .
- Learns about new tools, technologies, and cloud-native patterns and shares relevant findings with the team.
- Works within a Scrum/Agile environment, contributes to the DevOps backlog, and participates in sprint ceremonies.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to follow and continuously improve deployment and operational practices.
Required Qualifications - About you :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational experience working with Linux environments and writing basic Bash scripts.
- Familiarity with automation or scripting using Bash and/or Python.
- Basic knowledge of at least one cloud platform, such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker, and an understanding of container orchestration concepts.
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience using Git and familiarity with modern software development workflows.
- Basic understanding of monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting concepts. Exposure to tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Graylog , or Loki is an advantage.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, and SSH.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to seek guidance and escalate complex issues when appropriate .
- Ability to contribute across automation, deployments , operations, and application support activities.
- Responsible and proactive approach to assigned work, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong interest in learning new technologies and developing expertise in complex business domains.
Highly Preferred :
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and Helm.
- Familiarity with incident response and production support processes.
- Exposure to secrets management solutions, such as AWS Secrets Manager or Azure Key Vault.
- Familiarity with messaging platforms, such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Basic understanding of security best practices and vulnerability management.
