- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist Technical team in increasing production, assess capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

- Work directly with operations team in troubleshooting and resolving process issues

- Ability to learn process flows and production specifications to help drive production efficiencies

- Monitors operations data and assists in corrective actions to drive operational excellence

- Helps develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

- Identify opportunities to prevent waste and inefficiency in production

- Ability to learn and create required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancing

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insight and direction

- Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

- Majoring in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred

- Completion of 2 or more semesters in Engineering

- Interest and general understanding of lean manufacturing principles

- Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancing

- Internship or co-op experience in an operations or manufacturing environment strongly desired

- Computer literacy

- Understand, create, and update process flows, including documentation and standard operating procedures

TRAVEL:

- Up to 10% travel for meetings or training may be required.

OTHER:

- Must be able to lift 32-pound bags of litter on an infrequent basis
