About this role

Job Summary

The Plant Foreman will be responsible for overseeing plant operations, assigned personnel and scheduling of product movements for the Companys Ready Mix concrete business line. The Plant Foreman will work closely with the respective operations including drivers, internal personnel, and customers to maximize transport efficiencies.

Essential Functions

- Schedules and dispatchs drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.

- Confers with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for product.

- Monitors driver locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.

- Receives and prepares work orders, while creating and communicating daily crew schedules and assignments.

- Records and maintains files and records of customer requests, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.

- Prepares daily work with run schedules and communicates to appropriate personnel.

- Determines types or amount of product and vehicles required, while ensuring accurate pricing and quoting to satisfy customer product orders.

- Advises drivers and supervisors of traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions and other hazards.

- Arranges for necessary repairs to restore service and schedules.

- Builds professional relationships with customer bases and drivers.

- Prepares, delivers, and tracks invoices to ensure timely payments from customers.

- Maintain all equipment and vehicle tracking logs.

- Ensures that all Company personnel follow proper safety procedures, including the proper use of safety equipment.

- Works closely with the Area Plant Manager in ensuring the coordination and work flow of all materials, drivers, and equipment.

Qualifications

Competencies or Experience Requirements

- 3-5 years experience in dispatch for Concrete industry preferred.

- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office

- Strong organizational skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent problem solving skills

- Ability to work in a team environment

Education Requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.

Safety

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

Travel

Travel to job sites is required as needed.
