Snapshot of Daily Duties
- Perform routine patient check-in procedures, including patient work-ups and new patient history.
- Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as directed by physician.
- Perform phlebotomy for lab work and complete required forms.
- Approve prescriptions and communicate with pharmacies at direction of physicians.
- Assist in maintaining general medical records.
- Schedule patient appointments and other procedures in the computer as needed.
- Schedule outpatient x-rays and tests as needed.
The Must Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant Certification required
- Previous experience working in a medical office environment required.
- BLS Certified required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
