Key Responsibilities
- Manages and leads programs involving one or more functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for a subsystem or component of a product or service offering.
- Work with Marketing and stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into engineering requirements.
- Partner with product planners and FW leaders to prioritize based on customer value, feasibility, and timeline constraints.
- Lead proof-of-concept projects to explore new technologies and innovative firmware solutions.
- Coordinates activities of supporting project teams and internal and external development partners.
- Tracks progress against established plans and makes decisions to alter or update schedules and resource allocation to meet product requirements and development timelines.
- Scope POCs with engineering leads; define success criteria and test plans.
- Coordinate HW/FW setup, vendor collaboration, and cross-team collaboration; capture results and root cause data to inform go/no-go decisions.
- Align architects, developers, test teams, ODM partners, and PMO on scope, interfaces, and definition of done; lead structured issue triage and decision forums.
- Negotiate options and trade-offs across cost, feature, and availability; document decisions and downstream impacts for NPI and sourcing.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices to improve product quality, development efficiency, and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to leverage Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Agentic AI solutions within firmware, validation, automation, and product development workflows.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to evaluate emerging technologies and integrate AI-powered capabilities into products, platforms, and engineering processes.
- Lead AI-focused proof-of-concepts and pilot programs, including defining business value, success metrics, risk assessment, and scalability plans.
- Utilize data analytics, predictive insights, and AI-driven dashboards to proactively identify program risks, schedule impacts, quality concerns, and resource constraints.
- Drive engineering productivity through AI-assisted code generation, test case generation, defect analysis, root cause identification, and automation initiatives.
- Establish governance, compliance, security, and responsible AI practices for AI-enabled solutions across engineering programs.
- Work with stakeholders to develop AI adoption roadmaps, business cases, ROI analysis, and technology investment recommendations.
- Monitor industry trends in AI, edge computing, intelligent systems, and automation technologies and evaluate their applicability to future product roadmaps.

Work Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years leading engineering programs (hardware, firmware, software, or AI-driven solutions) in matrixed environments.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and directing matrixed teams and resources.
- Strong understanding of desktop and notebook PC architecture.
- Experience with embedded systems, BIOS, Embedded Controller, UEFI, and low-level hardware interactions.
- Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality firmware, software, or AI-enabled solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with security aspects of firmware, such as secure boot and firmware update mechanisms.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Previous experience working with ODMs and third-party vendors.
Preferred AI & Emerging Technology Skills
- Experience leading AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, LLM, or Intelligent Automation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML lifecycle, model evaluation, prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), and Agentic AI concepts.
- Experience leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Azure AI Services, or similar platforms to improve engineering productivity.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted software development, automated test generation, intelligent defect classification, and predictive quality analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational AI adoption and digital transformation initiatives across engineering teams.
