We're growing and looking for a Group Engineering Manager to lead an engineering group of several teams, manage 4-5 Engineering Managers, and report directly to Head of Engineering.

This is a second-line people-leadership role. You'll own the health, leadership quality, and delivery effectiveness of your group: developing Engineering Managers, shaping team structure, and making sure teams have clear goals, the right staffing, and effective ways of working. You'll work closely with Product, Design, QA, Architecture, and other GEMs to turn company priorities into realistic plans and keep progress and risks visible.

You won't manage individual engineers day to day or act as tech lead or architect. You decide within your group's scope rather than escalating routine matters.

👉POSITION BREAKDOWN

- Lead and coach Engineering Managers, including through performance challenges and difficult people decisions.
- Co-own hiring for engineers and EMs with the Head of Engineering and other GEMs, acting as a bar raiser in a single shared pipeline.
- Own the group's engineering roadmap and planning, aligning business priorities, product plans, architecture, reliability, and technical investments.
- Make commitments realistic, keep delivery visible, and escalate risks early. Own status syncs, stakeholder updates, and dependency escalation.
- Act as owner for cross-team projects within the group and for cross-group initiatives when assigned.
- Set an explicit performance bar for EMs and their teams, and make sure performance conversations happen early, not at review time.
- Measure effectiveness with flow metrics (cycle time, WIP, backflow) and act on data rather than anecdotes.
- Monitor workload and capacity across teams; fix overload and unclear ownership through reprioritization, reassignment, coaching, or structural changes.
- Bring structure and clarity without bureaucracy; spread practices that work across groups.

👉 WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

- Proven experience leading engineering teams, including growing both individual contributors and managers.
- A proven technical background and credibility with experienced engineers.
- Strong coaching, feedback, and performance-management skills, including handling difficult conversations.
- Data-driven decision making ability and a clear view of what makes teams effective.
- Solid hiring judgment and hands-on involvement in building teams.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and an ownership mindset.
- Fluency in Lithuanian and English.
- Bonus points: Experience with web development or high load systems.

👉 PERKS & BENEFITS

- Growth opportunities: Access to an internal library, latest tools and technologies, professional conferences, and mentorship to level up your skills, opportunities for internal career growth.
- Health & wellbeing: Private health insurance after the probation period, additional sick days (no doctor's note needed), and the option to join free volleyball games at Delfi Arena with colleagues.
- Office perks: Free parking, a fully stocked kitchen, Friday bun breakfasts, and a gaming room (table football, driving simulator, PS5, Xbox One); we're pet-friendly and love team activities from game nights to sports events.

- Extra perks: Monthly top-ups for your Eldorado.gg account after probation, gifts for important life events, partner discounts, and referral bonuses.
