About the Department

Make a difference through specialized behavioral health services that support individuals and families across every stage of care. Our behavioral health teams provide compassionate, recovery-focused treatment in collaborative environments designed to promote wellness, resilience, and long-term success. This role is integral to our Behavioral Health Services (BHS) unit, ensuring optimal access to inpatient services and fostering a seamless intake process for patients and referral sources.

Role Overview

As the Mgr- Patient Access, you will provide leadership and direction to maintain optimal access to inpatient Behavioral Health Services (BHS). You will supervise and coordinate daily operations, including intake processes, staff management, and quality improvement initiatives. This role is crucial in advancing an integrated intake design system and ensuring effective collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, and community referral sources.

What You Will Do

- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the intake process for Behavioral Health Services.
- Lead strategic design and implementation of an integrated intake system for inpatient services.
- Develop and manage an annual budget for the department.
- Establish and maintain relationships with physicians, clinical staff, and community referral sources.
- Monitor and analyze statistical reports to improve call management and access.
- Promote staff education, development, and adherence to quality standards.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of BHS inpatient database, Henry Ford Appointment Scheduling System, EPIC, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Groupwise, Press Ganey, Openscape, and Intranet Web based programs.
- Knowledge of Insurance Verification process and BHS payor contracts.
- Base knowledge of Henry Ford HR policy/practices.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in behavioral health services.
- Familiarity with integrated intake design systems.
