About this role

The Paint Loader/Unloader is responsible for the preparation of equipment and component parts to be painted according to the build plan and customer orders. The Loader/Unloader will organize and hang metal parts and frames on carts according to assembly sequence. In addition, the Loader/Unloader will utilize hand tools to remove corrosion and weld spatter from metal parts and seal seams prior to parts entering the paint booth. The Loader/Unloader is responsible for receiving products emerging from the drying booth and unloading pieces in proper assembly sequence. The Loader/Unloader will complete a secondary inspection of painted parts prior to releasing downline customers to ensure the highest quality product is being delivered. Paint Loader/Unloader will be available for fluctuating shifts and overtime where appropriate to respond to production needs. The Loader/Unloader will demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability while working effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare surfaces to be painted by washing, caulking, and scraping equipment and parts to ensure proper paint adhesion;

- Load and unload product from carts during preparation, rework, and staging activities;

- Accurately locate pieces from parts lists, dispatches, and drawings;

- Understand the definition of quality and know the measurements for determining quality products;

- Perform secondary paint inspections and report defects to Supervisor;

- Coordinate with Lead Person to identify and requisition equipment and materials needed to maintain production timelines.

- Successful use of handheld scraping tools, electrical sanders, grinders, HVLP spray gun, forklift, etc., and other machines and equipment specific to departmental or facility needs.

- Must be able to climb, crouch, stoop, walk, kneel, push, and pull regularly.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks.

- Must have sufficient visual acuity, hearing, and balance for safe equipment operation.

- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varied conditions, including noise, temperature extremes, dust, fumes, chemicals, and other environmental exposures where respirator use may be required.
