Mission
Manage the supply base under the philosophy of partnerships, for the best value components and services. Provide value-added support for product and project teams to manage the product lines value to the end customer.
Principle Activities
- Attend and support all assigned Product and Project Team activities with functional technical inputs and non-functional challenges.
- Measurement and improvement of the supply base performance through quality techniques and state of the art material management techniques.
- Assess the competitiveness of assigned commodities and supply base to insure overall value to the company and customers.
- Maintains the system integrity to insure prompt payments to suppliers, and inventory accuracy.
- Interfaces with Accounting to insure timely payment of all invoices.
- Provide strategic direction on supply base management both divisional and on cross-division councils.
- Uses state of the art techniques to reduce material costs to the stated goal, such as V/A and V/E.
- Assists Fairfax with component shortages if needed.
- Maintains competency in commodity areas for new state of the art approaches.
- Provide input and direction to the overall strategy of the department.
Financial/Risk Control
- Fulfill the financial control and risk management responsibility inherent in the position.
- Conduct yourself in accordance with the Company code of ethics policy.
Required Education/ Certification
- 4 year college degree. Preferably with a mechanical or technical focus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, access, and PowerPoint.
Required Experience
- Purchasing experience in ice machine components, metals, electrical, or mechanical components. Team focused. Quality and Problem-solving training.
Physical Requirements
- Some travel required. 25% or more. 4-5 hotel nights.
- Some light lifting, bending and squatting may be required.
- 30% of time may be spent keyboarding.
Compensation
$90,000 - $105,000
